Zoom speed
Quick question- Does anyone know how to adjust the zoom speed of the stock lens?
It seems to zoom rather slowly, making it rather tedius to push in, check focus, and pull back out. I know other pro video lenses often have some sort of external adjustment to control top zoom speed.... but this lens as far as I can tell has no such control. I know its possible to switch the zoom off of servo and manually perform a snap zoom, but is the servo zoom really so slow or is there some way to adjust it? Even my PDX-10 has a faster servo zoom than the JVC. |

One speed only on standard lens
the only way around it is the manual zoom, flick the dial or knob under the lens to change to manual zoom. I have noticed the speed does improve with the higher voltage of the HD200 series, but it's still very average uzing the lens rocker.
Having said that, when we attach the varizoom zoom controller, with variable speed dial, it performs like a different lens, it can be real quick. But also having said that, the varizoom twice now has failed within a month of using it, so I don't know if there's maybe a principle here of resistance etc. Someone more electrical in knowledge would probably correct me here. |

It's just slow- I don't even use the servo (on the Fuji 16X) anymore accept for wedding ceremonies.
