Well, I also use a PC. And as far as I have seen now, both Edius and Vegas 6c are able to handle the PD1 material in a good way. So, no issue here.

The new MSP8 supports the PD1, too. However, tests have shown me that the capture utility in the MSP8 does not work fine. To capture with the JVC utility works better. Also in Vegas, I tend to capture with the JVC utility, and convert the material to either the Cineform Intermediate, or the Canopus HQ intermediate, using gearshift (I have both codecs on my PC).
