slight fast forward
I took some practise footage with my GR-PD1 in hi res 625/25p and captured it with Connect HD. Connect HD converted it to .avi for editing. When I play back the footage in windows media player or loaded in Vegas 5 the video footage seems to be in a slight fast forward and the sound lags. Any reason for this ? Shutter speed? I'm sure I shoot it in automatic.. confused. any insight would be great thanks

OK I found out why it's happening but still no luck finding a solution. The Vegas software is reading my PD1 Hi Res 25p footage at 50p and as a result playing it back twice as fast. Apparently I have to change a setting somewhere in Vegas to tell it that The .m2t file is 25p not 50p. Any help on how to do this would be fantastic. Any help on how or where to find a solution would also be great.

From the Pd1 Manual
HI-RES: Allows you to record on a tape in MPEG2 format (576p). The camcorder records signals in the progressive scan mode (525 scanning lines at 1/25th of a second for recording and 1/50th of a second for playback at one time). In other words: the 50p issue is within the CAM. Whether you shoot 25p or 50p, it will output in 50p. Weird, huh? All editing software I have tested, bar the bundled MPEG EDIT STUDIO PRO, plays the footage twice as fast as a result. You need to teach the editing software to play at half the speed but that depends on the software..
