DVHSTool and jvc 30000u deck help needed

I put this post on the open dv forum with no luck, so I am trying here. I installed DVHSTool and intend to use it with my jvc 30k, but once I export a file I am unable to get it to import anything other than an empty ts file. I know the source material is good, and it is in native transport stream format (m2t file), thus all I am doing is trying to archive and retrieve the files with no luck. I also noticed that I was having the same problem with my HD capture utility that came with my hd10, and which can recognize the 30000u dvhs deck. It sees the deck and controls the deck, but when I try to retrieve archival footage I get a blank file. Help.

Thanks

What computer are you using with DVHSTool, an Apple? I never tried it, but Lumiere HD worked fine with my JVC 30k DVHS deck.

Heath, no such luck, I'm a p.c maven. It is the only piece of my editing equip I have never been able to get to work properly. I only really need it for storage, but at this point I might just break down and buy aspect or connect hd (I think the price just dropped, but I don't want to spread rumors.)
I think they work with the deck.

BTW heath, it seem the shorts hdv contest I suggested died of old age.

Dwight,

I've been TOO busy, but in the next couple of months, the short HDV film contest may become a reality, thanks to the Sony HDV cameras.

Email me privately in the New Year--I'm swamped with projects.
