hd-10 playback issue
A tape is playing back funky.
The timecode is running, but all I get on the LCD is a blue screen. If I fast forward (while playing) I see the image, but it looks kinda screwed up - like what happens sometimes at the very end of the tape. This has never happened on the 100+ tapes I have recorded with this camera, but it has happened on 2 of the last 4 tapes. I also (after this happened) used the head cleaner. Any insight? Steven |

Possible tape problem?
Steve,
I would clean the heads again. Also I've found that if you stick with one brand of tape, you're less likely to develop a buildup on the heads. I would also assume that you have not cables connected to the camcorder during this playback? You can watch on the LCD when the component cable is connected. Troy |

I dont think it is just teh heads because it happens with only 2 tapes in particular. Other (HDV) tapes play fine.

what tape are you using? I recommend Sony mini-dv. But it does sound like a heads issue.
