My HD1 is going back to JVC

After less than a month and less than 4 four total hours of record time, my HD1 has a cluster of stuck pixels right smack in the center of the CCD...

It is very noticeable so its going back to JVC tomorrow or Thursday.

Question is...Should I make JVC pay for the shipping to get it there??? I am sure they have a FedEx or UPS account to take care of these things...

Less than a month old I think they should pay the 50-60 fr the shipping and insurance...

What do you guys think???

It is specifically covered in their warranty that they do not cover incidental expenses, such as shipping. You might try contacting the dealer you purchased the camera from. The dealer might do an exchange or send the camera back to JVC for you.

We would send it back to the dealer but there is a tiny, little problem...someone (no one will take the blame) has thrown out the original box. We have everything else but that. No chance to send it back to the dealer...No one thought that it would be going back so quickly so I guess it was thrown out during normal cleaning.

So off it goes to JVC...

It doesn't work that way. The retailer would end up with a camera with no box, through no fault of their own. If the box is gone, the retailer still might send the camera to JVC for you. If they aren't local, then you're better off sending it to JVC yourself. After all, that's what warranties are for, repair of defective merchandise.
