Green Screen Chroma Keying with the HD10U
Green screen leaves lots to be desired with this camera. Especially when your final output is HD. You can get away with a lot if your final output is NTSC which was the case for me on this project, thank God.
The chroma noise and MPEG compression, I beleive get in the way of good chroma keying. Here's the final product which is the results of much tweeking and multiple masks in AE: http://www.lumieremedia.com/mdh/mdh.mov (28 MB) P.S. a good hair dresser would have also helped ;) |

Paul,
http://www.3ivx.com/download/index.html You can see compression but the file are VERY small and clients really get the idea. I find it to be a very good viewing codec. |

Looks great to me, and at ~ 57 Megs a Minute you could fit around 12 minutes on a CD. I've used Windows Media 9 which gives a slightly smaller file size (I think). This look like a nice distribution solution for the Mac. There is also Divx, but the encoder expires, is this encoder free?
