HD10U - 1:85:1 aspect ratio?
Hi,
I am going to buy the JY-HD10U camera this week, so I will post my opinions and offer video clips online for people to view. Note: I've got a HDTV rear projection television and I'm using Final Cut Pro 4. I work in a television studio, so I'll be able to use the camera often. QUESTION: Does the camera display 1:85:1 aspect ratio or something else? I'm trying to figure out the exact way the video is captured on the tape and also the way it ultimately exports to DVD. Also, thank you to everyone who participates in this forum. I just joined after lurking for a few weeks. Chris New Hampshire |

It seems like when I punched in the resolution in Premiere Pro I got an aspect ration of 1.77, but perhaps I was using the wrong setting (square vs rectangular pixels, etc.) Hopefully someone more qualified will be able to give you a more concrete answer.

The camera uses a true 16:9 square pixel ratio witch is 1280X720. It displays a slightly narrower ratio (about 1.8) on a SD 3:4 monitor (the black bars hide a bit of the image in the bottom and on top).
Hope this helps
