Message for Paul Mogg

Hi Paul,

I've tried your email adress a few times without success (it seems to be inexistant...) so I will try that thread.

I downloaded virtualDVHS with firewire SDK 17 but it just won't work (DVHScap does though). I was wondering if you could send me the SDK 16 version of virtualDVHS since I cannot find it on apple's site anymore. Do I need to install stuff in order for it to work?

Thanks,

Eric Bilodeau

Eric, a couple of things. I'm not an expert on this but I had to install the SDK to make virtualDVHS work, which you don't need to do for the other also you have to set the I/O channel to 63, I got this from another thread. I'll check my email adress and see why that isn't working. If you post your email adress I'll send you the SDK 16 if I still have it in a .sit file.

All the best

Paul,

I'm wondering why you decided to go with virtualDVHS when it requires you loading a whole new FireWire SDK (with who knows what consequences) when DVHcap does the job and is a simple utility?

Have you been able to output to the camcorer a Heuis encoding?

Hi Paul,

I haven't heard from you yet, have you found SDK16?

If not just stuff your developper's package, it should do the trick.

Sorry I haven't got back to you on this, been snowed under with work. I have the SDK 16 and will zip it up and send it to you shortly, unless you've alreay got it.

Steve, I was just trying the VirtualDVHS program out of interest, also it does batches of files which I don't think the DVHScap utility does.

I have been able to use VirtualDVHS (finally) and it has an advantage over DVHSCap as Paul said: batch output or track loop output witch are great to look at rushes.
