Does Steamclip mess up your HD7 file order?

i've been using the 1440CBR into imovie for a while but recently had a shoot where i was filling the drive faster than i could empty it, so had to copy footage across

the speedhump i hit is with the everio's file naming nature

streamclip changes the order on some of the clips if you just select the whole folder of everio TOD files

is there a trick to making this work? i found a very long winded work around by modifying the file names according to date using a 'a better finder attribute' software, but thats clunky

any tips?

Marty, I use toast titanium to convert my tod files. It works like a charm. I used to use streamclip, but found that didn't result in the best quality.

thanks John, I haven't tried that..

i actually shot a job today using a HM100 with HD7 as a "B" cam..

now that i'm wary of the file name/order problem it's not such a big deal, what kind of quality improvements did you notice using toast?

it is also using quicktime conversion as streamclip is yes?

There seems to be moire and artifacts introduced in the streamclip conversions. The Toast converted files maintain the vid quality of the original.

To a previous question, yes, I have had chronology of my shoots re-arranged by mpegstreamclip, but I've always thought that was more an issue related to the HD7 and how it assigns file names.

My use of Toast Titanium, and my knowledge of it, appears to be quite limited. Just how does one use Toast to convert files from my HD7, and what version of Toast is being used to make the conversion?
