I posted earlier sbout the HD30 that I just bought for $649

Now, I see the JVC GZ HD5 ( 3 Chip CCD 60 GIG HD) for $549

Which is truly better?

I guess you should go for HD5, you will get 3CCD & Fujinon lens which is brighter! And HD30 has CMOS censor, but you will have choice of videos in two different formats, AVCHD & MPEG2, HD30 has more storage capacity as well!

HD5 is old model and HD30 is latest camera! I have noticed 3CCD camera gives colorful images than CMOS, to me CMOS produces brighter images, well this is my view, but I have see so many videos from Canon looks very bright and less colorful than JVC's 3CCD camera!
And do not forget HD10, HD30 & HD40 are latest compare to HD5.
