GZ_HD7 and FCP6.0.4

I am looking for a smaller camera for my project. I was thinking about getting GZ-HD7, mostly because of manual controls. However I found an issue with editing in FCP 6. So what is the deal? I know this camera records in .TOD file and it has to be transcoded into .MOV format. Is the zip file offered in the other thread a fix for the problem?
Could you by any chance give me a link to step by step process? Thanks

There's some step by step methods in Steve Mullen's eBook on the HD7

It's a handy thing to have.
