Everio file formats, and firewire question! Please help...
Hi, I know this is not specific to jvc HD everios, but I was unsure where else to post, so please bare with me...
I am thinking of buying this everio model http://www.jvc.co.uk/product.php?id=...id=100094&lid= It seems to do pretty much all I could want. It has manual control, no tapes, mic input, shoots real 16:9 and....its black! (I hate silver!!) I know the older everio HDD cams used usb2.0 and dodgy file formats that people struggled to edit with (.mods). Have the new generation changed? I see that the docking station now offers a Firewire output. Does this mean that by using the firewire on the dock, it ouputs in a 'normal' format? Many thanks guys Jim |

It looks like the US version of the 555 which does in fact record to .mod files- so get your MpegStreamclip ready for those mod to dv conversions.
