aftermarket batteries for jvc gy ls300
Is anyone using a aftermarketbattery for the jvc gy ls300 and have good results with it? I need a extra battery but not sure if a aftermarket battery is a wise purchase. The original ssl jvc50 are 145 euro and the ssl jvc75 is 195euro, a ssl jvc50 aftermarket batteries however is 20 euro.
I have no objection in using aftermarket batteries on videolights or other non videocamera gear but I see that the Mah and voltage is different between the aftermarket and original batteries and just fear that might have an effect on the operation of the camera. I was also surprised how expensive the JVC LC-2J dual charger loader was as it's the same price as the small battery. |

Re: aftermarket batteries for jvc gy ls300
I have been using a duel charger from Swit (SWIT S-3602I) & a couple of their batts (SWIT S-8i50 47Wh Battery)
The batteries are bigger is size & capacity than the IDX one that comes with the LS300 but they do have a power output which is handy for powering Alphatron viewfinder. No problems with them (Yet)

Yes, I bought the SWIT s-8I50 which is a 7,2v 6.6Ah(47Wh) battery, has been working fine.

Thanks Noa!
Do you also use an specific charger or you just charge it through the camera, as with the battery that comes with the camera? Next week I'll receive my LS300 and I'm sort of worried about the idea of using the camera as a charger, I mean leaving the camera plugged in during hours just to charge the battery sounds a bit risky. |

Re: aftermarket batteries for jvc gy ls300
I got a VHBW 6600mah 48.8Wh battery
It's from a German brand (but made in China as always) I have 2 chargers, and none of them can charge this battery! Only way to charge it is inside the LS300 with the power cable! So I'm a bit disappointed, but otherwise the battery has provided the power it promised on the label |
