EVS test footage of JVC LS 300
Here's the link for our test footage on the LS 300.....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S47d...ature=youtu.be Be sure to change the Youtube settings to 4K and give it a chance to load so you don't have any buffering issues. Jim Martin EVSonline.com |

Re: EVS test footage of JVC LS 300
Thanks for sharing, Jim.
Wish I had a 4k screen to view it on instead of a retina display on my Mac Book or my 2011 non-retina iMac... A tad bit disappointing that most of the (daylight) footage was heavily backlit (which is great for torture testing dynamic range and codec but less good for evaluating well composed, front lit shots) but overall very telling. Frankly, I like it. From what I can see, video noise overall (long a niggle with JVC cameras) seems to be massively suppressed, at least as I'm viewing it. Love to hear your thoughts on viewing on a 4k monitor.

Re: EVS test footage of JVC LS 300
During our debut seminar, we got to view it on a JVC 84" 4K monitor and it looked really good.....yes, forcing the camera to work with big back light gave us a good insight into how well it could handle the "stress".....I loved the footage of the husky and his eyes.....another telling shot was the one under the pier at night, and we were only at 800 ISO!

Thanks for the fast response... looking forward to seeing the camera "in the flesh"... been talking to Craig Yanagi from JVC and he's pretty proud of this one.

Thanks for sharing, Jim. Dynamic range looks pretty good in backlit situations. Looking forward to getting my hands on this camera.

Re: EVS test footage of JVC LS 300
Jim, another question - any issues editing the media? JVC's Pro site states MPEG-4/AVC/h.264 in a .MOV wrapper.
Given the issues folks are having with some flavours on Sony's new cameras, how editable is the new JVC?
