Speaker stand to support crane
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...odforcrane.png
I found this speaker stand online. It is equipped with lockable wheels and load capacity is 65 pounds. I was considering attempting to build an 8' to 12' crane in the near future, and was wondering if the load capacity of this stand would be enough to hold crane, balance weights, and camera. The camera I plan on eventually using is Canon's XL2 Last edited by Ben Dailey; March 14th, 2008 at 09:40 AM. |

Are wheels a good or bad idea?

My 12' jib from bargain camera uses a speaker stand as its tripod. We haven't had anything happen yet. One of my teachers has a jimmy jib and it had wheels. The thing was huge but the wheels did make it easier to move, but it was stable once it was locked down.
