New York & Miami Safety
Hello fellow travelers!
Luckily for me, I will be making a trip to NY and Miami very soon, probably taking with me a T2i with one or two ~700 dollars lenses, and maybe a Zoom for audio and a mike... I'll try to make some documentary shooting. I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina, so, I kind of know what to be looking out in the streets for regarding my own safety. At least I think I do... Maybe there's something special regarding safety in NY and Miami I should know? Thanks a lot, you know how much this means to us. Iván. P.S.: i'm always really interested in seeing how other people work to learn, so if you could use my help for one day (shooting making of or B/C/D-cam for ex.) I'll be glad to meet you. I'm mostly interested in narrative or doc filmmaking. Or maybe you can tip me on something interesting going on between in August in NY or Miami? NY first quarter, Miami second. |

Hi, hope you enjoy Miami in August. It is beastly hot and humid then, unfortunately...I spent 43 years as a working photojournalist here, if you have any specific questions, send me a message...happy to help. You need to know where you're going in Miami, there are many wonderful and interesting places and there are, as in all large cities, places you really don't want to go. Unfortunately many higher-crime areas lie near main thorofares...if you have questions about any particular place, maybe I can be of help....best wishes / Battle Vaugnan / video_man@comcast.net
