GR HD1 is not being recognized by Windows

Can someone help? I recently bought 2 firewire cards and I installed both.

Im on Windows XP SP2
I have the I.Link set to SW
I spoke to someone @ JVC and they said that it wont recognize it unless I have their program which has the drivers. Is that 100% true at this time? HELP
