HDV -> VHS with timecode burn

Hey guys,

I'm finally playing around with a Z1U and doing some HDV acquisition. We have a big old project on the national road here in Indiana and workflow for logging HDV footage is difficult due to the high demand for our 3 HDV decks (Sony HVR-M10U VTR).

What I want to do is create a timecode burn from the HDV onto a VHS so our intern can work at his own pace and keep his grubby hands off the HDV decks. By burn, i want to have the display information that would typically be in a viewfinder...onto the video display.

I don't think it's possible to do what I'm asking with the HVR-M10U, but we are about to purchase an HVR-1500 which I think will output timecode display as an option.

Thanks
