Why pull down from for instance Canon HV-20?
Hi guys,
I'm about to buy a HV-20 that can as far as I understand record at 24p natively? (I'm in PAL land) Why do I then need to capture it at ie 1080/60i and make some strange maneuvers getting it to 24p in the editor? Or have I totally missunderstood something? // Lazze

It's a consumer camcorder and therefore the 24p that is shot has to be able to be viewed on a consumer HDTV through conventional consumer methods. For this reason, the 24p is housed within a 60i frame so it can be viewed straight away when connected to the TV.
If you want the true 24p... it's not a big issue... just remove the pull down. |
