Final Cut Pro Movie Files???
I've backup up a load of movies as HD final cut pro movies files exported as quicktime movies.
When I try playing them back all i get is the audio and I get an error saying it is searching for movie data? Can anyone enlighten me James |

I'm going to guess that you're trying to watch these movies on a different computer than the one you did the encode in.
I'll also guess that you Didgitized natively in HDV Thirdly I'll guess that you don't have FCP 5 installed on the computer you're trying to watch these files on. The result of which is that you can't watch HDV files on a computer untill you've installed FCP which also includes the correct codecs. |

my guess is that you might not have checked "make movie self-contained"--(or at some point unchecked this, since it is the default) when you exported out of FCP, which means you are looking at reference files, rather than self-contained quicktime vids.
