How did this guy compress this HDV file? Small size & Great Quality.
Check this video out.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RR7YXNSH (just enter the 3 letters at the top right and it will begin the download in about 45 secs) It was shot with the HC3 and is about a min long. The image quality is superb and the files size is a mere 33 megs! How do you suppose he did this? I just purchased the HV10 and I'm having a hard time finding that sort of compression quality. |

Well it's a .wmv file so chances are he used Windows Media Encoder 9. Google those 4 words and you'll find the free download page for it. Download the updated template files too (they are on the same page).
You may need Windows Mediaplayer 11 installed too, for the newest codecs. No idea what settings he used, but you'll be able to figure out the dimensions he encoded to from his file ... and "Constrained VBR" would be a good encoder option to start with. Hope that helps. |
