Help Converting AVCHD
Ok, I need to edit this stuff and i don't have the slightest idea how to convert these AVCHD files (windows says they are m2ts files once in the computer) from sonys HDR-SR1 into something that will work with Vegas 5. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I do not believe that any nles, that enable editing this codec, have yet been released. The list of supporters of the format can be found here:
http://www.avchd-info.org/ Sooner or, more likely, later some or all of these will deliver the goods. |

You might want to wait until Vegas 7.0c or 7.0d.

If they're m2t's, MpegStreamclip should be able to export to any NLE format.....this would be a Mac solution of course as I believe MpegStreamclip is a Mac-only program....not 100% sure.

MPEGStreamclip works fine on PCs.
However .... AVCHD files aren't really m2t files, at least in the sense of m2t meaning 'mpeg2 transport stream'. They are mpeg4. |
