Help Converting AVCHD

Ok, I need to edit this stuff and i don't have the slightest idea how to convert these AVCHD files (windows says they are m2ts files once in the computer) from sonys HDR-SR1 into something that will work with Vegas 5. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Luke

I do not believe that any nles, that enable editing this codec, have yet been released. The list of supporters of the format can be found here:

Sooner or, more likely, later some or all of these will deliver the goods.

You might want to wait until Vegas 7.0c or 7.0d.

If they're m2t's, MpegStreamclip should be able to export to any NLE format.....this would be a Mac solution of course as I believe MpegStreamclip is a Mac-only program....not 100% sure.

MPEGStreamclip works fine on PCs.

However .... AVCHD files aren't really m2t files, at least in the sense of m2t meaning 'mpeg2 transport stream'. They are mpeg4.
