Download for broadcast - suggested formats?
Client want us to make SD clips available for download to broadcasters worldwide.
What are recommended video distribution formats in NTSC & PAL which will work fine with broadcasters today? File size is not a problem, clips will be transported over a global content delivery network. They are not DV clips, most likely we will digitize to 4:2:2 uncompressed if we can slam a sufficient number of drives into the raid. /magnus

If bandwidth is not an issue for you and your users, I would make the 4:2:2 uncompressed files available through your network, making sure you are not using a proprietary codec, allowing your users to view the files without specific installation.
You might also want to create a low-resolution version of your clips, allowing your users to preview the file before deciding to download the HUGE file. |

Quicktime with animation codec seems to work well for most apps. If on a Mac, make sure you have a file extension for Windows users.
