Matrox Parhelia 256MB VS Parhelia APVe
Ok, so I'm torned between these 2 graphic cards the prices are:
Parhelia 256MB (around 500€) Parhelia APVe (around 300€) I'll be using it to edit HDV/HD footage on premiere pro 2.0 and after fx. I'd like to know if there's anybody there who tried them both or that tried one of them? Do you think it's worth to pay the extra money for the Parhelia 256MB? I have the data sheets right here: http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/t..._datasheet.pdf But it's always better to hear from people who actualy used these products, not from the people who want to sell it. |

To make things a bit more interesting lets throw the Nvidia Quadro FX 1500 and the FX 560 into the mix.

Rafael,
I am very happy with the FX560. Specs can be seen here at http://www.videoguys.com/fx560.html The breakout box is just what I needed to enhance my setup. Why don't you give the guys over at videoguys.com a call, explain your setup and see what they advise. They have always been very helpful to me. Regards,

On this comparison sheet (http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_11761.html) you can see that the Quadro FX 1500 has memory bandwidth of 40 GB/sec. How much would this influence premiere's performance when compared to another card with a memory bandwidth of 19.2 GB/sec (the FX-560)?

I edit Cineform HDV, raw .m2t HDV and Raylight HDV with Ppro 2.0 with my APVe and it performs like a champ. Things aren't GPU accelerated so editing has little to do with your graphics card specs, more with your CPU. I don't see why you'd need anything more.

I belive the APV is PCI-e while the P-256 is AGP. Isn't this correct? Both offer Parhellias much desired WYSIWYG output for Prem, AE, and many other video apps, along with 3 screen output (any combo of 3 screens)
