I had a problem like that at work with our premiere system. The problem turned out to be that since my boss had created a password protected account for me to enter windows, and my account was not an 'administrator' account, I didn't have access to external hardware and certain programs. So windows didn't recognize any cameras or vtr's that we connected. But, once we created a new account that was an 'adminstrator' account, we were able to connect any vtr or camera. Don't know if that applies to your case but, maybe it'll help you or someone else.

I had the same problem....
I use to hot connect my camera, but now, I connect it when both the camera and the computer are off... turn on the computer, then turn on premiere, and when I'm ready to capture, turn on camera... Thats how I do all my capturing now... cold connecting. |
