AJA KONA LH board or not? Please help this newbie.
Hey folks, new to posting so any tips would be great.
Here's my deal: Soon to be a Z1/M10 owner working on a loaded G5/FC5 platform. Almost all of my work will be in HDV acquisition (short-form pieces) downconverting to DVD for one-off distribution. From time to time I need to ingest from DVD or VHS but that is rare. Here's my question: Do I need a board like the KONA LH to 1.) get accurate audio/video monitoring out of my system, 2.) get additional A/V (VO, the occasional VHS, etc.) into my system, 3.) is there really much "acceleration" of effects with the board, etc.? I'm trying to figure out if this is overkill for me or not. For example ... can I get accurate video monitoring with synced audio/video using the component outs of the M10 which is hooked up via firewire while editing? Have got other questions but will wait and see how this post goes. Thanks! - H - |
