Editing UPREZZED FOOTAGE. Is it possible?
Hi everyone,
On going through several posts, I have learnt about the UPREZZING procedure by which SD media can be resized to HD. I am aware that my footage should be exported as .tga sequential files and resized to 1080 for HD using PHOTOZOOM PRO. I have also tried to do it with few frames which looked awesome and sharp. But my query is what should I do with the resized frames? Should I import the sequence to my SD editing platform which is an AVID EXPRESS DV 3.5 and work as a 16:9 project or should I import the sequence in a HD editing software like AVID PRO HD or Premiere Pro? Which will get me better results? Is it practically possble to edit UPREZZED footage in HDV editing platform? Has anyone done this before? I am making my first indie feature film, shot entirely in DVX 102A(PAL) and I cant use a HDV camera coz' its simply unaffordable. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. This forum is absolutely mindblowing, providing even the minutest details in DV production. Thanks to all of you. Vigna Raajan |

Greetings Vigna!
I would say it is possible to import your up-rezzed footage into an NLE platform like Premiere, it supports the Truevision Targa file format, but as long as you do it sequentially. If you're doing a number of individual frames, then you would have to do it as a sequence to not get the frames misplaced, but I'm sure it will work. Sometimes I export animation files in a different format, and import it into my HDV timeline, then re-export my finished product in whatever format I want, and it works fine. So basically I think the answer you're looking for is yes, it should work. |
