PremiereHDV->AE workflo question
Since I had to upgrade my Premiere to 1.5.1 tu support HDV, does After Effects also have to be upgraded?
Additionally, is it typical to cut everything in Premiere and then shift over to AE to do your final processing there? If that is the case, what format would you ouput from Premiere to go to AE? If the opposite is true, again the question stands. I do not have AE but am considering it. TIA!

I was able to import the captured footage off my 720p cam right into after effects without a problem. I'm using just the 1.5.1 update with the hdv plugin, and it seemed to work ok.

For DV edits, here's what I do
In AE, you select import, then you choose your Premiere project. AE will open it as a sequence with every shot on a different track. All this while keeping (most of your) transitions intact. Then, you can colour correct and add effects to your liking. It works very very well !
I've yet to try this with HDV footage since I don't use Premiere (yet) for my HDV editing. I'm using Vegas. I'll drop a line when I try it. |
