Davinci 11 Now released in Beta- Now being touted as an Editor Too.
Black Magic Design has now released a beta version of Davinci Resolve 11, which is claimed to now qualify as a full editing solution.
In looking at the video explaining the new editing features, it appears to me to have most features I need in an editing solution. Resolve has a free version, and all camera buyers, except the Pocket, have gotten free dongles for Davinci Resolve. The update to 11 is free to Resolve 10 owners.

Re: Davinci 11 Now released in Beta- Now being touted as an Editor Too.
Chris, I have been very impressed with the performance of Resolve10 (Lite) and I am eagerly awaiting the release of Resolve 11. I understand the the HD output of the Pocket Cinema Camera does not require the power of the full version, so no dongle there.
I used it on the last DVC entry I put together and was very happy with it. I understand that even the free version accepts XML from Final Cut Pro X, so you don't have to use it as an editor, but I am sure I will give the editing functions in the new version a full work out. It may well become my quick and dirty option instead of iMovie. I will wait for the first non beta before installing though.
