Need recommendations for server solution for mulitple editing stations
Hi all,
We have been editing with external harddrives and it has been going well when only limited people doing the editing. However, we are getting more people to do editing and it is quite hard now to share external harddrives, etc. I want to find a solution where we can host the files in a server that would allow us to work collectively as a teamWe use imacs and macpros. From what I googled, it appears that setting up a NAS server is probably what I need. So, I just want to look for more suggestions and specific details. Any pointers appreciated. |

Re: Need recommendations for server solution for mulitple editing stations
You will not be able to support multiple edit stations with HD video with a typical consumer NAS from Amazon or Best Buy. That type of solution just can't move the data fast enough.
You should probably be looking at solutions from vendors like Small Tree - High Performance Networking and Shared Storage Solutions for Media Professionals or Shared SAN Storage Solutions, Storage Management, and Project Workflow or Home - EditShare |
