Anyone backing up to the cloud?
I've recently upgraded to faster FIOS (75Mbps down/35Mbps up) and am now contemplating cloud backup. I know that it's going to be slow still (1 Tb will still take 2.5 days according to CalcTool: Data transfer time calculator), but there's no reason that it can't churn away in the background while I do other stuff. At least when it's done I'll have an offsite backup in case the house burns down.
I tried this five years ago with a slower FIOS and could never get a good backup. I'm wondering if things have improved enough to make this feasible. I'm looking at Carbonite. They offer unlimited storage for as little as $59/year. Has anyone tried this? What cloud service are you using? Happy with it? TIA, john
