Is there any editor or plugin available to make a clip OUT OF FOCUS?
Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you know any video editing software or plugin which can make few frames out of focus! Look at this video and you will understand better what I am talking about I know a plugin called PHYX Defocus for Final Cut Pro which does this but its 50 USD. I was looking for something cheaper or preferably for free. I would really appreciate if you can help me to find a solution. Thanks a lot. |

Boris Continuum Complete has some very nice blur effects. Not cheap or free but good.

I would think any professional NLE would have such a plugin included. I know Sony Vegas Pro does. It's called Sony Defocus. A few months ago I was playing around with a green-screen shot, creating a fake slip-focus effect. I started with the foreground layer defocussed a bit, then brought it info focus while putting the background layer into defocus. It looked convincing.

You do realise that in the video theres only natural out of focus.
Also: if the shots are small in length, I always put a simple Gaussian Blur effect combined with a video scale increase. For 2-3 seconds it doesnt make much difference, but it looks really weird and fake for longer shots. |
