Reading HDV taped in a DV camcorder?
Is it possible to use a dvx-100a as a tape deck to capture the data to my computer from the tape which was originaly recorded in an HDV camcorder with an HDV signal? Was wondering since I'll have access to an HDV soon for a test but I won't have it for capturing to my computer?
any thoughts? was wondering since they are both using DV tapes and laying down the same type of magnetic path, I think? any thought up or down would be great, thanks. PS: can differant manufacturers HDV camcorders read and play each others HDV recorded tapes? jh |

Unfortunately, no you can't use a non-hdv camera to playback or capture hdv tapes. The tape used is physically the same, but the method of recording the hdv signal to tape is much different.
