Video Card for MacPro using Win7

Ok, so the the title may be a little bewildering...but if any of you have experience with the following scenario, please chime in and advise. And please no guessing replies.

Is it possible to take a Windows based nVidia card (i.e., FX1800) and install in a 2009 MacPro (taking out the current video card of course) and using it just under Win7 via BootCamp?

I know there are Mac based video cards; albeit a very limited selection....so no need to reiterate that to me. I'm only concerned about the Windows (BootCamp) side.

I suspect that you'll need a card that is approved for the Mac. Apple embraces typically one QuadroFX model... It was the 4500...now it's the 4800.
