Workflow question: Editing in DV now and recaptuing later in HDV
Since I can't distribut HD content on DVD as of yet, I captured and am editing in SD, using PP 1.5.1. This lets me utilize my Matrox RTX100 and avoids buying a new computer. (Spent my wad on FX1)
Is there a way to use the timeline info to recapture in HDV later to make the future HD version a simpler task and avoid complete re-assembly/editing? If not, what should I have done? Thanks |

Assuming that we'll get the ability to use HDV timecode in the future, you'll be able to replace all that footage if you captured it with timecode.

After almost 4 years since this thread was answered, where do we stand with issues of edit in DV and master to DV then later go back and rebatch a line to HDV?? We have been having some issues with timecode synching up correct when trying to rebatch a line to HDV. We use Avid software. Any help would be much appreciated. THX
