AVeL LinkPlayer 2 plays Cineform, M2T, and WMVHD!
I'm sure you guys have heard of the AVeL LinkPlayer 2 by IO-DATA, plays WMVHD, DivXHD, etc.
However, with the addition of a free download they just posted on their web page a few days ago ("Advanced Server"), I can now play my Cineform .avi's and native .M2T's captured from our JVC HD10! The trick is that the Advanced Server software transcodes the video in realtime to an MPEG2 stream that the LinkPlayer can handle. The only downside is that the maximum bitrate of the realtime transcode is only 8Mbps. Thus, during some motion you get macro-blocking. However, this is a really convenient way to log shots and review footage on a TV (possibly in another room) without having to burn your stuff to DVD first. There is lots of additional info on this player over at AVSforum and at my website (see my sig). Most of the AVSForum stuff is off-topic here (it is specifically about the LinkPlayer's features, not just HDV related ones), but I wanted to bring the HDV stuff to the attention of everyone here. I'm pretty floored the software can transcode the Cineform .avi files (50 Mbps) to MPEG2 (8 Mbps) and stream it in realtime over the network. That's some wacky stuff :)
