QuicktimePro on a PC does not read AVIs with various codecs
Help, I want to take an AVI file and read it into QuicktimePro, and then save it out as a bunch of jpeg stills (QuicktimePro is good at this, but if you know of other programs that will convert AVIs to jpeg stills while skipping so many frames at a time as I desire, let me know).
So my problem is Quicktime Pro will read uncompressed AVIs, Cinepak AVIs, and some others, but not AVIs made with HUFFYUV, or some other codecs. Why not? Is there a fix? |

QuickTime is not meant to be used to play back AVI files. The
probable reason that QT doesn't want to read your HUFF files is that there are two codec standards for AVI and QT probably has only implemented one (most probable candid is VFW). Just use uncompressed AVI's or find some other software (it is easy to export all frames, but I'm not to sure about skipping frames as well etc.) or output your video in QuickTime's native .MOV format using any of their codecs. Keep in mind that you do not want to use any loss codecs since JPEG is a lossy codec as well and you will loose a lot of information.
