Tom, I was hoping you could clarify something about the LinkPlayer2 that I haven't been able to determine based on the players' website. Do you know how 5.1 Audio is handled? I'm assuming that Dolby Digital is passed through either of the digital outputs, but do you know how DivX 5.1, WMA 5.1 (or WMV-HD 5.1), etc is handled. Is it possible to convert the audio to AC-3 or DTS before being passed via the digital out? Thanks!

Bobby, it will handle most or all of those audio output formats, but as far as I know, will not convert audio to another format, i.e. to AC-3 or DTS.

It will play AC-3 and DTS, WMA. It plays lots of formats, although some can be hit or miss.

Here is a link to a forum on the AVel LinkPlayer2. Lots of information, many users and reports, 22 pages at present.
