external mic audio missing in mac, but not in PC at DVinfo.net

I plug in a handheld mic into my FX7's mic input.
When I edit in Premiere (PC), the audio of the interview is there.
When I use the file in a Mac, the audio is not there.
Also, the mic audio only comes out of the left channel. I mixed in music audio and that comes out stereo.
When I listen to the file on the Mac, the music is there but the mic audio is not.

I did go through and create a DVD with DVDSP4, during the preview, no mic audio. In the final DVD, there is mic audio. Why is this and is there a work-around?
