HEURIS stuff I'm not sure we're all aware of??

Ok, I did a search on here and didn't see anything posted about this below. I found it while fishing around...is this something everyone is aware of or am I lost on this one??

XtractorHDV $199 (extract):

XtoHD $99 (TS streams to DVHS):

Final Cut Pro plugin coming?? Says on their site: "DVDConnexIT export plug-in for Apple Final Cut Pro (available soon)" -- look at the bottom of the page:

It makes no sense to me why Heuris are charging money for these utilities, when the same functionality is available for free from Apple in their DVHScap and VirtualDVHS utilities.
I also can't believe they'd expect people in their right minds to pay $5000 for an mpeg encoder when the camera only costs $3000. What they are thinking, God only knows!

I agree with you 100%. I'm hoping that the chips fall into place soon. I really want to *easily* edit my HDV footage.

LISTEN UP APPLE AND EVERYONE ELSE OUT THERE!

Isn't that what they use in their HD program anyways, XtractorHDV to grab the footage, XtoHD to play it back on DVHS? Of course, the clincher is they AREN'T selling MPEG Power Professional - DTVHD yet, which does the actual encoding. All the info is here:

http://www.heuris.com/MPEGProducts/I...lkit/index.htm

I'm guessing the DTVHD is what pushes the cost to $5000! Without it, the XtoHD is probably worthless. Unless you use all the freebies we can download, but what do we use to encode it to mpeg-ts?
