Anyone else have problems with serial on MPEG Studio Pro LE?
Argh, I'm trying to install on a Windows XP system the MPEG Studio Pro LE that came with my HD10U. If the program itself is anything like installing it - this sure is going to s*ck like everyone said!
Does anyone else have a problem with the provided serial number? Before you ask - yes, I have a legit CD-ROM that came with my HD10! It says, "Serial number not correct. Please input correct serial number." when I try and hit "Next" to finish the install. I have typed the serial numerous times and my girlfriend (she's a chemist/scientist, so hopefully that means something?!) has also checked it for me too. I'm stumped, so if anyone has experienced this let me know please! Thanks, Chris Murphy |

I think alternate L with 1. I'm trying to remember what I did.

I alternated the 1 with an L, but still didn't work.
There are about 30 numbers and letters, so I'm not sure if the printing was screwed up or what on the CD-ROM. If someone here is willing - I could email you the serial number and maybe you could check it for me? If it has an error by one letter or number...please tell me! I won't post the serial on here because of obvious reasons. Thanks for any help! JVC support isn't open - only 9am-5pm!!! Chris |

You may want to try a search throughout here, because this topic was talked about already. You can email me at heath@mpsdigital.com and I'll try my best. heath ps-Why bother with this software? It's a beginning, but total garbage. I hear Premiere, Vegas and now FCP (with Mullen's plug-in) are good. I'm too busy with my DVD to fiddle with the HD10 and stuff.

Update!!
You were right Heath - it was a small "l" as in Larry and not "1" as in number 1. JVC actually put a paper in the bottom of my box that I just found. It looks like an after thought - people must have had problems. Oh, the reason I'm trying to install the software is because I'm waiting for Steve to email me the plug-in! I sent the money on Friday, so he should have it anyday. I'm desperate to just see this footage on any computer right now! Thanks very much Heath and everyone for your help! Chris |

Chris,
No sweat. Paul and i were the first ones to buy the camera on the board (that I know of), and we didn't have the piece of paper from JVC! ;-) Best of luck! Post your findings and use a DAT for audio (surf around and you'll see my "research" posted around). heath
