Splitting X.264 (mov) the easy way?
I need to find a small (preferably free/cheap) program that I can split an X.264 decoded movie file with. It doesn't have to do anything else. I shoot 720p with my Casio EX-F1. Windows Movie Maker won't do, it just crashes.

If the file opens in the Free Quicktime player or you can convert it to a format such as H.264 that does, then the upgraded Quicktime Pro ($30US) lets you set in and out points, Edit->Trim and then export the clip into whatever format you like. Rinse and repeat from the original for as many subclips as you want. QTPro also lets you combine clips together and export them as one new file. You do this by dragging a clip onto the ST player window with the playback position located at the desired insertion point. File -> Export .....
Converting from then to H.264 is compute intensive so don't be surprised if it takes a long time. |

Tnx for the tip. Still, it would be nice to have a splitter, that doesn't convert the codec. As in one X.264 file split into two X.264 files.
