FCP 23.98 picture 29.97 sound
I'm working on a Red One production and I'd like to get some feedback on a couple topics that I can't seem to get a definitive answer on. First of all, I'm under the impression that when shooting 23.98fps it's best to jam synced to the audio recorder running 29.97fps ndf. This is what I've read but then every once in a while I find articles stating that it's best to record audio at the same frame rate. Let's say we go with the 23.98 & 29.97 ndf then once you bring these two clips into FCP for editing how is it that the timecodes line up properly? Can you merge clips and sync to timecode? I'd really appreciate your advice. Thanks, Ryan

That's what I have always assumed is the best practice for reasons that seem obvious, at least to me.
