Broadcast Master HD Deck
Trying to do some research on what HD deck to buy for broadcast mastering in HD. Doesn't seem to be as easy as it used to be (picking up a Sony 1800 Beta SP deck). I've looked into Sony HDCAM ($32k for their standard deck), DvcProHD ($20k) and even Sony's $5k pro-sumer HVR-M35 HDV deck. Fairly certain that a media outlet wouldn't accept a HDV tape as a master but I could probably send it out for HDV>HD dub at a larger facility?
Anyone know which deck seems to be standard (if any)? Please excuse my ignorance if I'm bringing up an old discussion. Thanks. |

Most of the big boys (Discovery, Nat Geo, etc.) prefer delivery in HDCAM.
