was looking for a device to use to capture video to computer without wearing out my camera. can i capture hd to my computer useing the sony walkman 1000?

No. But for about the same price you can pick up a used or refurbished HC3 to use as an HDV deck. Otherwise you're looking at the M15 or M25, starting at a couple grand.
