FYI Mark, not sure if you have experience flying stabilizers but if not, expect to spend a while getting the hang of it. Renting is actually a great way to determine if you like a rig or not, something that few people these days feel is a worthwhile investment (as opposed to buying a rig sight unseen and then putting it up for sale within a few months, which we see a lot of here).

we rent ours for 400.00 per week, if SWA cargo flies that way we would be glad to send it to you.
Charles is correct, we have several renters who are glad they tried it first, and some that picked up on how to use it eally well in one week. Let us know if we can help |

Or you could support the sponsors here (even though they don't reside in our great state - we forgive you ;) - perhaps we could consider you honorary Minnesotans).

Canon XL-H1, XH-G1 Rentals
Does anybody have any suggestions as to where on the East Coast, preferably New York, I would be able to rent up 4 Canon XL-H1 and/or Canon XH-G1's?

FYI, the hollywood sign is actually protected by copyright. If you're using it in a non-journalistic fashion, you'll have to contact the holder and purchase a license.
Yeah, I know.

From the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce FAQ:
(http://www.hollywoodchamber.net/chamber/faq.asp) "I’d like to use the Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Do I need to get permission to do this? Yes. Please contact Global Icons at (310) 820-5300." And this is interesting: http://ask.metafilter.com/88293/Holl...gn-Trademarked And so is this: http://www.globalicons.com/clients/e...ent-frame.html It looks like Global Icons really works hard to find violations and ask for their money: http://www3.wcl.american.edu/cni/0506/37847.html |

Shooter Needed: NNJ Wedding July
My nephew is getting married in July and he and his bride-to-be would like just the ceremony taped. They haven't found any videographers who are willing to do just the ceremony and since my young son is in the wedding, I'd rather watch than work so.....
If anyone is available and can shoot and turn over tape, please let me know. My Z1U, wireless package, and lights are available for the job. Thanks Reed

I'm also interested. I've shot a couple of weddings using the Canon XHA1 and Sony PD170 in the last year for friends, and they turned out very well. I'll shoot as much as is needed. I live in Somerville NJ. Let me know and we can talk.
Thanks, James F |

3D Compositor and Animator
Hi
I've just shot my feature film - The Impossible Murder, on HDV 720/25p, in India. There is some special effects work that needs to be done and I can't afford any salary. However, I'm willing to share profits since I intend to sell this film commercially. There would be compositing work (After Effects, etc), some 3D Animation (in 3D Max or Maya), and anything else you wizards can think of to enhance production values. Please visit www.theindiefarm.com for further details and reply if this interests you in any way. Thanks! sareesh

Hi Sareesh
I'm a freelance 3d animator from the UK. You can check out my website at www.3dvisions.co.uk. Check out the music video for composited work examples. The robot arms and the girl in the video. Cheers Mat |

Thanks guys for the info. I will check with cinequipt first since it is so close. And if I dont have any luck im sending my business to Texas! I definitely agree that it makes sense to rent first. Ive flown just a glidecam so far. I really want to full affect of the vest and "real" steadicam arm.
