Rick,

If you get in a pinch, I work with a GL-2 and have had some experience with the XL-2. Let me know if I can be of some assistance. I am about 1.5 hours away.

Thanks.

Bradley Barber.

Opportunity For LA Area Shooters

We are looking for two shooters in LA area to help on a series of one day multicamera shoots in the LA area along with Charles Papert, SOC, an award-winning camera operator with film credits including "American History X" and "3000 Miles to Graceland", and a top poster on DVinfo.net.

We are offering $200 per day as this should be an excellent learning experience shooting alongside a highly respected cinematographer in the industry, and a fun and creative job also. (Easy setups, no psycho directors! :-)

You may be be wearing headphones and monitoring sound. You will also be doing some light grip work, helping move cameras, setting up and adjusting lighting and other equipment, gaff taping cables, etc.

Must:
* be reliable
* have references
* have a reel we can view online (or DVD) that you actually shot all of! :)
* have reliable transportation
* be familiar with modern digital camcorder operation, such as the Canon XH A1 HDV camcorder.

7 - 8 shoot days throughout January - March timeframe, noon - 10 pm (it's okay if you are only available for some dates)

You will have shooting credit with DVcreators.net, well-known worldwide as a very high quality provider of training for digital video production and postproduction.

$200 paid at the end of each day. Two meals provided.

Please send your resume along with any samples of your work to grace@dvcreators.net.

Thanks for your interest.

Videographers in Italy

I've got a client that needs video shoots of between 25 and 50 hotels over the summer months in Italy. He's just starting out on this project so I don't know the actual start dates or exactly where the hotels are as of yet. I just offered to try and find some people over that there. You'll deal with him directly. Anyone? Must supply demo reel. Architecture obviously preferred.

LA HD Transfer to HDCAM, Digibeta, BetaSP - costs and where?

Hi all,

I'm an indie filmmaker and recently moved to Los Angeles, CA. I shot a film in HDV 720/24P and soon I will have a 15 min. HD 720/24P uncompressed Quicktime file I'd like to output to HDCAM, Digibeta, and regular SD BetaSP somewhere in LA (yes, festivals). Anybody could point me in the right direction and give some some idea of costs per hour, i.e., 2 hrs in the transfer suite?

Muchas Gracias,

The DR Group (www.thedrgroup.com) near Culver City. Contact Nathan Adams (nathan@thedrgroup.com) and tell him that I referred you. They are a great place.

Then there is Plaster City Post (www.plastercity.com). The guy there is Michael Cioni (michael@plastercity.com). A bit more expensive, but also great guys.
