Videographer needed in Las Vegas
I'm looking for someone to shoot a fashion show in Las Vegas, for a Montreal designer.
Ideal candidates will have a HVX equivalent or better camera and similar experience. Please pm or reply on this thread, list your weapon of choice and a link to some previous work. I'll put serious applicants in touch directly with the marketing manager to discuss compensation and further details. Thanks in advance! |

Thank you!!
Hi everybody! I just wanted to thank you all for participating in the Simultania Project! I can't tell you how cool it is and how good it feels that so many people took part.
I'm in the middle of figuring out how I'm going to exhibit all these incredible videos together, but it's a fantastic problem to have, I assure you! If you want to check out a sort of "prototype" for how the installation will play, check out The Simultania Project, and click on the 4x4 video on the right. Thanks everybody and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! Houston Film Critics Society needs your help
If you are a videographer in LA, the HFCS needs your help!
We are putting on our annual awards show this Saturday and are trying to get a video taped acceptance speech from our Best Supporting Actress winner to show at the event, but we have no way of getting a camera crew out there or hiring one and her publicist doesn't have access to it. If you can help us, email me at joshua.b.starnes@gmail.com; I'll set you up with the publicist, you'll just go to her hotel, shoot a 2-3 minute speech, and send me the video. Thanks! I would think your local film commission/film development office would know of locations available for rent.

In LA, people typically put those ads up on Craig's List under Crew Gigs. If you do that, use the title line to give a basic description of what you need - SMALL, MIDCENTURY HOME NEEDED FOR FIVE DAY FILM SHOOT. Let them know that you have insurance and if your film crew is older and experienced, include that in the ad. There are a lot of people who won't rent to students or first time filmmakers, who will rent to people who are older/more experienced.
I once rented a gorgeous, newly remodeled bungalow for a thousand bucks for 2.5 weeks. I found it under rentals. The guy liked us, and liked the idea of a film being shot in his home so he gave us an incredible deal. If you're close to the shoot date, you can call people who have rentals on the market and a lot of them will be interested in a short rental. Realtors aren't much help. You need to be able to talk to the owner. Location scouts in the area will also know what's available and who is willing to wheel and deal on their rates and in this time of 9% unemployment, there will be people desperate for even a few hundred bucks. Last but not least, ask your family and friends, if you haven't done so already. |
