If any wedding videographer needs a helping hand, I am at your service. December 10 is my last day in school and the winter break starts. It would be my pleasure if I could be your apprentice for the day.
Please contact me via this thread or via e-mail if you need an assistance for your wedding project. I would like to learn from the pros here at dvinfo.net. Thank you for your time. |

I'm good for a shoot or two. I'm in LA and I got a girlfriend in Seattle that I could stay with if necessary. I got an XL1s and an XL2. Give me an email and I can forward you my resume and get you a demo reel.

*** Video equipment rentals in Honolulu?
Does anyone know of any photography and/or videography gear rental shops in Honolulu, Hawaii?
I am from Vancouver and will be travelling there December 5 - 9 to shoot a corporate gig. I am bringing most rental equipment with me but would love a resource if the client thinks of things once I'm there that will need to be captured with different equipment. If nobody knows specifically, I'd love another online resource where I could look to see if there exists such a rental shop! Thanks in advance! |

Why not go to a good local rental company, like Abel Cinetech?

XL1 for rent in Colorado
I personally own a Canon XL1 camera and I am willing to rent it out to someone who is making an indy movie. I am asking only $10 a day. My equipment is very basic. The extra items I have for this camera is a wind screen , UV filter, (2) 8-hour batteries, and a camera bag. I have a pretty nice tripod head too, but I need to keep the tripod with my ball head mount as I need it for my still photography. You need to live or be shooting your film in the Denver/Northern Colorado area. The cheapest I have seen this camera available for rent is $175 a day. I thought I would do a service to someone since my camera hasn't seen much use. My price is negotiable. I just thought I would throw this offer out there to see if I can help alleviate some costs as I realize how expensive movie making is. I enjoy watching indy films and this is what I have to offer. Thanks for reading this. Please do not contact me if you are out of state. I will not ship my camera to anyone. I will only deal with you in person. I will have a photo of my setup soon. If you have any questions please contact me.

serious reply...
Back to your original post, you are right, you might serve your needs well by looking elsewhere.
For the kind of "content" you are seeking, you would have to get publication rights and paper documentation in the form of releases from the talent for the public distribution of their images in the format and forum that you are considering. Your attourney will be able to fully disclose to you the needed legal documentation to continue your pursuits. For this kind of documentary work, you obviously have a professional business advisor and lawyer at the ready to provide such necessary resources. But don't use the cheapest ones available. Be prepared to have your cheque-book ready to the tune of about 375.00 per hour. But you knew that already. If anyone at this board can help with the kind of materials sought after as indicated, you might want to chime in. Otherwise, best of luck in fulfilling your requirement. |
